I have personal experience with Hayden and can verify that the resources available to students are all they need to be successful. During my four years there, I benefited from free tutoring and ACT testing, as well as a motivating staff (including Ramon Martinez!). The school also offers dual enrollment and math classes up to Calculus for those looking for STEM careers. Its reputation may be less than stellar due to its location, but you can make it work if you put in the effort. One improvement would be if the textbooks were more current and students who caused disruption were held accountable; otherwise it's hard for teachers when certain students show up in their class again after creating havoc the day before with no consequences.

What happens when you take the term "Community" out of Carl Hayden High School's name? I've noticed it being written incorrectly as opposed to its technically correct title, Carl Hayden Community High School. Is this ignorance on behalf of the local community or the federal educational system? The PE Department should look into having a pool across from the high school annexed and open year-round since it gets to 100 degrees in Arizona most days—especially after school. It's worth noting that former Senator and longest-serving U.S. Congressman ever (besides Congressman Byrd) Carl Hayden fought for water rights on the Colorado River earlier in the 20th century; now we at his namesake high school are still wanting access to water for physical well-being. Maybe a bridge over Roosevelt Ave could make this easier? Respectfully, Mr. John A. Corona, M.Ed., Educational Leadership

A game room could be added which would provide students a place to gather, chill and play pool or table tennis, or some arcade games; this would offer a break from the daily routine.
