When I was young, I used to attend this wonderful school. Packed with fun parties, dedicated teachers, and awesome events, Manzanita Elementary school is one of the best schools for miles around. Twice a year, they have a huge book fair where children and adults can buy a large variety of books, posters, and other fun things. In spring, they have a school-wide Carnival with all sorts of fun games and prizes.Kindergartners get to learn about life cycles by hatching live chicks.First graders get to learn all about bugs with live praying mantises, butterflies, and more!Second graders get to learn all about how to make and save money by making their own currency and selling crafts made in groups to each other, seeing who can make the most \"mustang bucks\"Third graders have a garden, where they get to grow and eat a large variety of fruits and veggies.Fourth graders learn all about the writing process and they have an \"Invention Convention\"The best year of all for me by far, was fifth grade. Fifth graders learn all about the civil war, preforming a reenactment of it in realistic costumes / props. They also get to take a three-day trip to Science Camp, a sleepaway camp located in Pason. My favorite part is that fifth graders get to have \"ticket fairs\", where they sell goods to each other for tickets, which are earned throughout the year for good behavior. Its been a few years since I have been there. I know that there has been a switch in management, and that there is a new principal. Although there has been a management switch, Im sure the school is still the best one around for young children.Kindness is encouraged, and bullying is hardly a problem. There are fun after- school classes for kids to attend and learn about different things.Overall I would rate this school 5/5 stars, even though the school may have changed since I attended.
