Irma Rangel was a school that my teachers suggested to me initially; I did not want to attend at first as I had wanted to go to a regular middle and high school. Nevertheless, now that I am almost at the end of 8th grade Irma Rangel was a school that my teachers suggested to me initially; I did not want to attend at first as I had wanted to go to a regular middle and high school. Nevertheless, now that I am almost at the end of 8th grade, it has been hard to maintain good grades, but the teachers at Irma have aided me with unfinished assignments. Even the staff members have been good; they have assisted me with everything. My family is Mexican, and at my previous school I used to only speak Spanish as I was bilingual; when I arrived here, I had a hard time with my schoolwork and parent-teacher conferences. Nevertheless, the staff members aided those parents who could not speak English very well by translating what the teachers said. I recently had my STAAR test and I passed with all the help of my teachers. I know someone who graduated from Rangel last year; they began in 6th grade, and now they are in college diligently working. more ... hide ...

It's an incredible program! During my senior year in 1978, we moved to the high school for health professions in downtown Washington, Gaston. I was able to get a dental assistant certification when I was 17 and even got a presentation at the Dallas Mid-Winter clinic about the significance of medical history in the dental office. I was the youngest one to ever win the first-place award. The majority of the other contenders were in college. I got a college education while in high school, was certified, and was rewarded. I am grateful to the Dallas Independent School District for their support in helping me to advance my career! more ... hide ...
