We were shocked by the school's reaction when a chaperone, who had been approved by the school, put their hands on another student. Despite our fondness for Villa's teachers and their commitment to Montessori teaching, t We were shocked by the school's reaction when a chaperone, who had been approved by the school, put their hands on another student. Despite our fondness for Villa's teachers and their commitment to Montessori teaching, the school was run like a dictatorship with all decisions being made at the discretion of its director who was not open to any parental input besides financial. To make matters worse, during a school trip an acquaintance of our son was manhandled by another parent - not in an attempt to save them from harm but rather to force them into taking part in an unwanted photo. The victim's parent reported it to administration but nothing came of it; there was no follow-up when it came to this chaperone that had been authorized by the school! As a result of this incident, the child moved schools and understandably so; how could they feel safe if no action is taken? Even more concerning is that after I took kids on my own trip, there were still no meetings or discussions with parents about what is acceptable behavior nor did they speak with any of those who witnessed what happened - which left everyone feeling disappointed and uneasy. Although Montessori has its benefits, safety should always be prioritized over anything else and if a school cannot provide that then other options should be sought out. more ... hide ...

When we first enrolled our daughter, she had to change into her uniform in the nurse's office. My wife and I were watching as the front office lady interrogated a little girl for being three minutes late. After noticing us, she rudely asked what we were doing there. Upon informing her that we were only waiting for our daughter to finish changing so we could take her to class, the woman proceeded to harass my daughter about hurrying up and leaving.The buses are terribly hot, causing our child to come home sweaty and suffering from heat stroke multiple times. There have also been issues with security since a stranger was able to un-enroll one of their students without having their ID checked or any other form of verification. With all this in mind, coupled with the violence prevalent in Phoenix area at present, my family has decided it would be best for us all if we moved out of state for better quality of life for our kids. To add insult to injury, lice has been brought into my house five times since the beginning of this school year - Madison Camelview needs to get this problem under control! more ... hide ...

The teachers are great, however, there are many irresponsible students and the tardy policy is not enforced. The school needs to review their policies with their staff since the students don't take it seriously. As a tenth grader, I can say that the bad reputation of Camelback is due to other student's actions and no one seems to care. It used to be different in 2015 when Dr. Boyce was around; he cared more and took action. Nowadays, it feels like the school has gone downhill and staff members need to step up as better leaders for their students because we are all the future - come on! more ... hide ...

I had many conferences and chaperoned trips, and the staff was always friendly and encouraging with my children's progress. My three older kids got to attend the K-8 system for almost four years, which was great because it made conferences easier when I had multiple students in different grades. LCK has continued to do an excellent job; living across the street from them means I get to watch my children having fun during recess! more ... hide ...
