I am extremely glad that I chose Desert Marigold School for my adopted daughter; it is like a family. Numerous graduates of Waldorf education, whom I know personally, are contributing to the betterment of our world. Furthermore, a friend who was trained as a Waldorf teacher further encouraged me to make this decision. After two years, I am even more certain that I made the ideal choice for her growth and development. The Waldorf method emphasizes the holistic development of body, mind, soul and spirit without succumbing to external pressures. It also encourages individuality and provides resources for children's parents in their journey towards self-expression and autonomy. Additionally, children get to stay with the same teacher and classmates through their lower grades which helps them develop strong relationships with many people around them. I have been closely monitoring the Champion School, which my son has been attending since Kindergarten. His teacher during that period of time, Mrs Ruiz, showed great love and dedication to the little ones she was respon I have been closely monitoring the Champion School, which my son has been attending since Kindergarten. His teacher during that period of time, Mrs Ruiz, showed great love and dedication to the little ones she was responsible for. The school motivated kids to read by launching a fifty book challenge, with an increasing number of readers each year. In addition to promoting reading, this establishment also encourages sports and excellent academic performance, thus producing smart and athletic students. I have seen awards for state championships hung up in the gym as well as trophies displayed in the office – quite impressive! The Superintendent Mrs Sawyer is often spotted walking around the grounds during games discussing matters with parents while wearing yellow (the school's colors). Every classroom has computers available for educational purposes and teachers use them to communicate with families – something I appreciate a lot. On one occasion when the bus was vandalized overnight and students were unable to be picked up on time in the morning, parents were informed at 7:00 AM about needing alternative transportation; this is why I'm so delighted with Champion Schools' commitment! more ... hide ...
