I love this school my son has been there for 4 school years

I attended Country Place as a student from 2006-2009, grades 6-8. My experience was generally positive; teachers and students were nice to me. The reason I gave it 3 stars was an incident during my 8th-grade year. After I attended Country Place as a student from 2006-2009, grades 6-8. After explaining to the counselor that I was having problems with another student, the counselor misconstrued my words as a threat and wrote up a disciplinary referral instead of helping me resolve the issue - which I never meant in any bad way. When I protested, the principal didn't believe me and sent me home with privileges revoked upon returning to campus. Though there are good teachers here, administration is conservative; parents should research faculty before enrolling their children to ensure they're friendly and professional. more ... hide ...

Kindergarten is excellent. The responsibility of learning isn't just on the teachers, parents have a role in supporting them as well. A teacher can manage 25-30 kids at once, yet parents get mad when they hear their chil Kindergarten is excellent. A teacher can manage 25-30 kids at once, yet parents get mad when they hear their children curse. What kind of home environment are these kids coming from? My daughter had an amazing experience at her kindergarten; the staff allowed me to observe her classes and join in activities too. I even took part in parties and picture days! Unfortunately we had to move so she changed schools, but after one day there I wished we could return to Dos Rios where the principal would greet students each morning - my 6 year old adored that! Even though it gets busy, the office staff do great work and try their best to answer any questions you have. I cannot comment on bullying for older students but it starts at home so you shouldn't blame schools for this kind of behavior; they do their best to make it a safe environment for all! more ... hide ...

Other Black people have reported similar cases where they were targeted for their race and yet got in trouble for defending themselves. How can this school not discipline its students or offer consequences when someone starts something but when a larger African American student speaks out all heck breaks loose? Cyberbullying or illegal activities are not involved here; I'm just giving my feedback on the foolishness of the school staff- this is my opinion. more ... hide ...
