My son has been attending this school for four days now. As we have experienced in other schools, such as the Amphitheater School District, I believe that this school is currently understaffed. As we have experienced in other schools, such as the Amphitheater School District, I believe that this school is currently understaffed. This can be seen from the few staff members present during student pick up and drop off. I have yet to receive any info on how to contact his teacher or even meet her yet. Most schools do a meet-and-greet with teachers and PTO either on the first day of school or two days prior (as was done at Amphi). Furthermore, there was another list of items sent home despite already purchasing what was required on the site for this school – most of which were not needed except for pencils. My son and I used to have lunch together every Tuesday at his old school; sadly we can no longer do that here since they don't allow parents on campus which seems wrong to me. Additionally, my son mentioned that many students in his class curse and don't listen while also not finishing their tasks due to those who are out-of-control; I'm not sure if this is just TUSD schools or if it's because we moved into a different area without realizing it. Overall, I'm disappointed by how they handle things here since it appears they don't value parent involvement nor family engagement with learning – making me miss Copper Creek more than ever! more ... hide ...

The small class sizes and supportive environment are supplemented by the mandatory and voluntary involvement of other parents - something I highly value due to having been a public school teacher for almost two decades. more ... hide ...
